1. Pack

We all have plenty of to-dos on our list.

With the Bento Method, you're forced to prioritise 3 tasks as your limit.

Choose from 3 tasks to pack your Bento:
โ€โ€๐Ÿฅ— small for an easy win - this could be an administrative task or personal wellbeing time.
โ€โ€๐Ÿš medium for tasks with a medium level of energy and focus, but not all your attention.
๐Ÿฃ large for tasks with a need for deep focus โ€” that means as little distraction as possible including meetings.

2. Flow

Once you have 3 tasks to work on per Bento box, time to pick which order you'd like to work on them in.

Choose from 3 workflow approaches:
๐Ÿธ Eat That Frog is taken from the classic productivity book of the same name by Brian Tracey - with this workflow, you focus on your most important task first (๐Ÿฃ large) move onto (๐Ÿš medium) and finishing with your (๐Ÿฅ— small).
๐Ÿ—ป Climb The Summit is a balanced approach to your day. You begin your day with a medium-energy task, (๐Ÿš medium) moving to the biggest task (๐Ÿฃ large) and finishing with your (๐Ÿฅ— small) task.
๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผ Slow Burn is perfect for slow-starters to the day. You begin with your smallest task (๐Ÿฅ— small), and then move onto a more demanding task (๐Ÿš medium), gradually working your way towards (๐Ÿฃ large) - great for afternoons.

๐Ÿ’กTIP: We'd recommend (๐Ÿธ Eat That Frog) is you like to get things done first thing - alternatively if you had a late night we'd recommend using (๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผ Slow Burn) - as you can see, this is adaptable.ย

3. Focus

Use these philosophies for better focused sessions:ย

  • Entering a state of "Deep Work" will help you accomplish more
  • Avoid context switching whilst in a focus state on one-task

๐ŸŒฟ Applying Bento

There are a few alternate ways you could use your Bento box

  • ๐Ÿ“… Week - Plan your full week with 5 or 7 boxes
  • ๐Ÿฅ… Goals - Plan your week, month, year goals with 3 boxes
  • โ˜€๏ธ Stints - Plan your morning, afternoon and evening with 3 boxesย

Our recommendation is to use Bento to plan your first week and adapt your criteria to meet your needs.

You can also use the Bento Methodology alongside other applications and tools too.

๐Ÿ’ก TIP: Start a countdown timer for the suggested completion time and focus in by culling any distractions
